AIWAV June Meeting 2025

6/30/20251 min read

We wrapped up our monthly meetings before the summer with an inspiring talk by Allison E. Zurfluh, President of the Barena Association.

Her work in the Northern Venetian Lagoon is nothing short of incredible — protecting fragile salt marshes, preserving wildlife, and supporting non-tourism repopulation of native islands.

From waste removal in protected wetlands to restoring balance in this unique ecosystem, their mission is essential — and deeply inspiring. Grazie, Allison, for sharing your passion and vision with us!

Before Allison's presentation, Julia bowed out as President with information about the voting process for the new Leadership Team. It was great to see Hermione, Gina and Olivera at the meeting.

Along with myself, Laura, they were all confirmed in the vote afterwards as respectively President, Secretary, Vice President and Treasurer and the association looks forward to it's next phase of growth and development.

The club now takes a Summer break for a couple of months and we'll see you all again in September.
